Emotion-Focused, Mindfulness-Based
Counseling
Ages 18-22
My therapeutic specialties have naturally found their way to counseling throughout early adulthood, as I believe it to be a pivotal time of identity development and interpersonal struggle.
In my own undergrad experience I was a teacher for my peers in a course centered around developing personal and emotional awareness, and finding purpose and meaning in uncertain times.
(Check out that course web page below to learn more of my background)
Challenges I have experience in supporting this age group through include:
Self-Esteem
Relationships
Stress & Emotional Regulation
Adjustment Challenges
Depression & Anxiety
At the core of awakening is the experience of being cracked open. Indeed, as 21st Century humans, we face a predicament similar to that of an un-hatched bird, insofar as we are often hemmed in or entrapped. Though not encased within an eggshell, we are frequently caught in our own confusion about who we are, why we are here, and what it means to be fully human. But this need not be! Just as is the case for the bird who breaks free of her shell and learns to soar, possibilities, as limitless as the clear blue sky, await each of us—provided we summon the courage to fully awaken.
