Working with Jamie changed the way I parent, and it changed the way my child expresses her feelings and thrives in this world. Simply put, it changed our lives and I’m so grateful for her.

I came to Jamie because I felt I lacked the ability to support my (then) 3 year old through my divorce and I needed help. Jamie provided a safe space for my child to express herself and taught me how to encourage and understand her feelings as well. When COVID hit, we started Zoom sessions and that’s when the work really kicked in.

Throughout our sessions, I realized that I needed to work on connecting to my own emotions and that only then could I have a fuller understanding of my child’s feelings. Jamie helped me understand the way kids think, process emotions and absorb their environment. She held space for so many of my and my child’s tears, our laughs and helped us develop more imaginative play. Although we’ve moved on from seeing Jamie, I refer to the tools she taught me frequently. My kiddo is so much more independent, empowered, self-assured and able to stand up for her needs because of Jamie and her work. I couldn’t recommend her more. Thank you Jamie!

Building a Wise Nest

When I think of a nest, I think of comfort, safety, and home. A bird builds a nest to nurture it's young in a safe, seemingly untouchable place so that they may grow healthy and strong. This is the place where those young birds learn to fly and eventually nurture themselves enough to where they can fly free on their own.

Wise Nest Counseling is a place where children, parents, families, and adults can build their own nest, utilizing their innate, instinctual wisdom. Once we can find the comfort, wisdom, and connection in ourselves, we are able to work with life's various challenges without becoming consumed by them. Our mission at Wise Nest Counseling is to guide you towards wholeness and change through building your child's and/or your own personal nest that best supports your challenge.
